The Ultimate Guide to Trading in Fantasy Football

If you’re looking to get an edge on your opponents in fantasy football, one way to do so is by actively trading players with other owners. Trading can be a great way to improve your team by adding players that better fit your strategy, while also unloading players that no longer have as much value to you. However, trading can also be a risky proposition if not done correctly. In this guide, we’ll teach you everything you need to know about how to successfully trade in fantasy football.

When to Trade

The best time to make a trade is usually right after a big performance from a player you’re looking to unload. For example, if you have a player that goes off for a huge game and you know that his value is going to be at an all-time high, that’s the perfect time to try and trade him away.

On the flip side, you can also look to trade for players that are coming off of disappointing performances. These players will usually be much easier to acquire than they would be after a big game, and there’s a good chance that they’ll bounce back in the near future.

Who to Trade

Obviously, you’re not going to want to trade away your best players. However, there are certain players that are more expendable than others. For example, if you have a player that is significantly outperforming his projected points total, he’s likely to see a decrease in production at some point. This makes him a prime candidate to trade away while his value is still high. On the other hand, players that are underperforming their projections are usually good candidates to target in trades. If you can acquire one of these players at a discount, there’s a good chance that he’ll start producing at a higher level soon.

How to trade in fantasy football?

The key to trading in fantasy football is to always be looking for ways to improve your team. Whether you’re looking to unload a player that no longer has value to you, or acquire a player that can help your team in a specific area, always be on the lookout for trade opportunities.

In order to make sure that you’re getting the best possible deal in a trade, it’s important to do your homework. Be sure to know the strengths and weaknesses of both your team and the team you’re trading with. Additionally, don’t be afraid to shop around and see what other owners are willing to give up for the players you’re interested in. The more information you have, the better equipped you’ll be to make a smart trade.

What not to do when trading in fantasy football?

There are a few things that you’ll want to avoid doing when trading in fantasy football. First and foremost, don’t get too emotionally attached to any player on your team. Just because you drafted a player in the first round doesn’t mean that he’s untouchable. If you’re presented with a trade offer that you think is fair, don’t be afraid to pull the trigger.

Additionally, avoid trading away players that are underperforming their projections in exchange for players that are doing better than expected. It’s important to remember that players can be streaky, and what goes up often comes back down. If you trade away a player that is due for a rebound in exchange for a player that is bound to regress, you’re not going to be happy with the results.
