The Giants have yet to win a week this season, with the exception of an overtime triumph over the New Orleans Saints in Week 4.
It’s not as if they haven’t appeared in games.
Darius Slayton lost a wide-open, game-clinching touchdown against NFC East opponent Washington Football Team on Thursday Night Football. Then, on a WFT game-winning field goal miss, defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence inexplicably hopped offside, and New York lost the game on the redo.
With little over four minutes remaining in the game against the Atlanta Falcons, the Giants were ahead by a score. The Falcons then got in position for a last-second field goal after Adoree Jackson lost a game-ending interception in the end zone, the Giants committed pass interference, a drive stalled due to penalties, and the Giants committed pass interference.
While the Giants’ two defeats and the Saints’ triumph may have given them optimism, the team’s final two games have shattered that hope.
In their previous two games, the club has deteriorated. They were thrashed 44-20 by the Dallas Cowboys, while the Los Angeles Rams were thrashed 38-11 by the Los Angeles Rams.

The New York Giants have several issues.
The squad is now struggling with a huge injury bug that will keep offensive talents Saquon Barkley, Kadarius Toney, and Kenny Golladay out of the Carolina Panthers’ Week 7 showdown.
The play-calling of offensive coordinator Jason Garrett has been questionable all season. The Giants’ offense ranks 26th in terms of scoring. In four rounds, GM Dave Gettleman has only picked one Pro Bowler (Barkley).
Despite the organizational problems, Judge insists that he is the one who must bear accountability. According to ESPN, the second-year head coach recently told reporters:
I am the team’s head coach. It is, without a doubt, my obligation. It all comes down to me, every player on this field, every position group, and the execution. From the head to the tail, the fish reeks. That’s something I’ve learned from wonderful men with whom I’ve worked and played. There are no exceptions or justifications. You require it of your coaches in order to ensure that your players are playing in the proper manner. … But it all begins and finishes with me.

Will Joe Judge be the next Giants leader to leave after just two seasons?
Judge may be able to maintain his position if one of two choices is chosen. He may dismiss Garrett and pick a new quarterback to replace Daniel Jones, potentially at the behest of management or ownership. This situation would most likely extend his life by another two years.
Option two is that Gettleman gets fired by the team’s ownership, who don’t want to give him another opportunity to botch up the franchise quarterback pick after the Jones fiasco. In this case, ownership may enable Judge to bring in someone from his New England family, allowing him to stay on for a few more years.
If the Tisches and Maras bring in an outsider, Judge is likely to receive just one more year.
All of that said, stories like this one from NFL insider Jason La Canfora on The Tony Kornheiser Show claim Judge has many in the organization “scratching their heads,” which might imply the head coach will be blamed for the team’s disastrous season in the end.
