This past week, many NFL players voiced their disapproval with Odell Beckham Jr.’s one-handed catch against the Panthers where he didn’t appear to use his other arm for balance during the game. However, playing without two hands is legal in football because it doesn’t affect ball possession or scoring so long as there’s no contact made by an adversary until after a player has established if they’ll complete the pass into their catching hand.
Odell Beckham Jr. is a wide receiver for the New York Giants and has been quite successful in his career. Despite this, there’s no reason he should have one catch in 2021.
The Cleveland Browns’ decision not to move Odell Beckham Jr. before the NFL trade deadline might backfire. The Browns’ coaching staff, OBJ, and Baker Mayfield may all be blamed for the team’s poor start to the 2021 NFL season. Chad Johnson, a former Pro Bowl wide receiver, believes Mayfield and the coaches are to blame.
After Cleveland’s Week 8 defeat to the Pittsburgh Steelers, Johnson weighed in.

Odell Beckham Jr. was acquired by the Cleveland Browns in a trade with the New York Giants in 2019, and it appeared like a good match.
Jarvis Landry, a longtime friend and former LSU teammate, was reunited with Beckham Jr. for the first time. He and quarterback Baker Mayfield, on the other hand, haven’t gotten along.
In his debut season in Cleveland, OBJ caught 74 catches for 1,035 yards and four touchdowns. Despite his modest touchdown total, he had a productive season with the Browns. Since then, the veteran wideout’s connection with his quarterback has worsened.
Mayfield is in his fourth season in the NFL, but he has failed to live up to his lofty draft price tag. The addition of OBJ was expected to aid the development of the young signal-caller. As a consequence, both players have suffered the price.
In 2020, Beckham Jr. sustained a season-ending injury, causing him to miss the start of the 2021 season as well. When he’s on the field, though, it’s clear that there’s a disconnect between him and Mayfield.
In seven games in 2020, OBJ has 23 catches for 319 yards and three touchdowns. He’s only caught 17 catches for 232 yards in six games in 2021. He has yet to score a touchdown.
Mayfield’s father, according to USA TODAY Sports, accused his son of purposefully throwing to other receivers over Beckham Jr.
The two players can’t seem to agree on anything.

The lack of productivity from Odell Beckham Jr. is disturbing, but his lack of usage is even more so.
Since returning from injury, the New Orleans, Louisiana native had 34 targets in six games. When he’s healthy, OBJ has the potential to be a genuine No. 1 in the NFL. That’s not going to suffice.
Chad Johnson, a former Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver, turned to Twitter to vent his frustration with the situation.
“As a sports fan who understands the value of coaches using their top players’ talents to give their team the greatest opportunity to compete and win,” Johnson said. “Regardless of the f****** conditions, Odell should only have one catch.”
With that remark, the former six-time Pro Bowler is aiming at head coach Kevin Stefanski. As offensive coordinator for the Minnesota Vikings, Stefanski had success with Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs. With OBJ, though, he hasn’t had the same luck.
It’s unacceptable, according to Chad Johnson, for a player of Beckham Jr.’s quality to have just one catch in a whole game. He also has a fair argument.
Baker Mayfield is in charge of delivering the ball to his star receiver while Stefanski is in control of the show. He has constantly failed to do so.
Cleveland should have found a way to move their dissatisfied wideout sooner rather than later.
Despite the fact that the NFL trade deadline passed on November 2nd, Odell Beckham Jr. remains a member of the Cleveland Browns.
Rumors circulated regarding the front staff attempting to move him before the deadline. However, nothing tangible was accomplished.
The Browns may come to regret not pursuing a suitor more aggressively. Mayfield and Beckham Jr. do not get along. They’ve had plenty of time to figure it out, yet it still doesn’t work. What they want to see next is uncertain.
OBJ’s NFL career has been wrecked by injuries more than his ability. Even if his productivity doesn’t reflect his skill, he’s one of the top wide receivers in the last decade.
It’s unknown if any clubs were interested in acquiring OBJ before to the deadline. Cleveland surely doesn’t want to give up on the guy they traded for, but it’s time to move on.
Baker Mayfield should never single-handedly target Odell Beckham Jr. in a single game. This is not acceptable.
The Browns had great hopes for the 2021 NFL season, even aiming for the Super Bowl. They’d be fortunate to reach the playoffs at this stage.
