However, it seems that a defective voting mechanism was to blame. In 2020, his stats were nowhere near those of the league’s best tight ends (654 receiving yards, one touchdown).
Despite Engram’s failure to live up to his first-round billing, clubs from all around the league are checking in on his availability. Engram will be a free agency at the conclusion of the season, making him a good possibility for a trade deadline.

In the end, the Giants shouldn’t be too cautious. It’s a terrific outcome to get some value out of Engram during a lost season. Moving ahead, New York needs as much draft capital as humanly feasible.
