After missing the entirety of last season with a gruesome injury, Dak Prescott returns to lead Dallas Cowboys in 2018. The former 4th round pick is one of the most exciting players in the NFL and has led his team to consecutive NFC East titles. However, while Prescott is back on the field, he will have to tackle off-field issues that could derail his career.

Before sustaining a catastrophic season-ending ankle injury, Dak Prescott was hitting all cyclinders in Weeks 1 through 4 of the 2020 NFL season. The quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys has proved to be a difficult competitor. Despite playing against physically intimidating players on a weekly basis, Prescott is afraid of something completely unrelated to football.

This offseason, the Cowboys were the buzz of the town. America’s Team was featured on HBO’s Hard Knocks as they prepared for the 2021 NFL season. In a scene from the show, Dak Prescott shared one of his greatest concerns.
If you’re scared of mascots, you might be one of the greatest NFL quarterbacks. The two-time Pro Bowler admitted his mistake during a discussion with running back Ezekiel Elliott. According to the New York Post, Prescott remarked, “You assume it’s that guy in the costume, but you have no idea who the f*** he is.”
He thought back to his youth and how his dread of people dressed up had affected him. “That’s why I’ve never done anything haunted,” she says. ‘That’s the ideal spot to murder someone,’ I used to tell my mother. “Why would I do anything like that?” he wondered.
Prescott has a point, as absurd as that may seem. Some costumed individuals may be scary. It’s an intriguing pick for his worst fear, particularly given the fact that ferocious pass rushers are attempting to punish him every play.
The Cowboys’ signal-caller should be able to maintain his cool when they face the Minnesota Vikings on Halloween.

Football is, by definition, a physically demanding activity. Even so, it’s difficult to see horrific injuries unfold in real time. Dak Prescott’s 2020 season was cut short due to a severe ankle injury. He’ll make his comeback on Thursday night football against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
In an interview with NBC’s Maria Taylor, he expressed his fear after the injury. “How come I can’t feel my toes?” After losing sensation in his foot, he wondered aloud, “Will this foot ever function the same?”
Prescott was able to get through this tough period because to rehab and the outpouring of support. “It meant a great deal to me. “I just knew I had so many people rooting for me to succeed and pushing me to succeed that it made it all that more easier,” the 28-year-old quarterback said.
The Cowboys have been in the news this offseason for a variety of reasons. Dak Prescott, on the other hand, dominated many of them. Whether or not the Mississippi State graduate would be ready for the season opening has been a source of contention.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has stated that Prescott has “actually looked sharp” and “does not seem rusty,” according quarterback Jon Machota of The Athletic.
The game on Thursday Night Football will be his first game back, so expect a lot of emotion. In 2021, Dallas must prioritize safeguarding their top quarterback.
Prescott will encounter defenses in 2021 that should frighten him
As the reigning Super Bowl winners, Prescott and the Cowboys offense will not be able to ease into things. From top to bottom, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have one of the most comprehensive defensive groups in the league. In total defense, Todd Bowles’ defense finished ninth in 2020. It was also tied for sixth in terms of takeaways.
Devin White and Lavonte David, both linebackers, will be flying all over the field. The image of Jason Pierre-Paul, Shaquil Barrett, and Ndamukong Suh barreling down on Prescott would be terrifying.
The Cowboys’ next game is against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 2. Brandon Staley, the former defensive coordinator for the Rams, has taken over as head coach and has a lot of talent to work with. Although LA lost Melvin Ingram in the offseason, Joey Bosa remains to offer a ferocious pass rush. Kenneth Murray is a talented linebacker who is on the verge of breaking out in his second season.
Derwin James, who has battled ailments, will also return to the Chargers. He has the potential to be one of the league’s greatest safeties if he stays healthy. Chris Harris Jr. and Asante Samuel Jr., both candidates for Defensive Rookie of the Year, are also in the secondary.
Dallas will also have to face the Washington Redskins on two occasions. That’s not going to be enjoyable. The defense of the football team is ravenous. In total defense, they came in fourth. Washington boasts the strongest defensive line in the NFL, led by Chase Young and Montez Sweat. Jamin Davis of Kentucky was drafted by the front office, giving this defense another another dynamic playmaker.
These three games will be difficult for Dak Prescott and the Cowboys to win.
