Instead of pursuing the University of California product, Dallas went for Terrance Williams of Baylor. Williams seemed to be an excellent choice at the time. He was a key member of one of the most prolific attacks in college football, headed by Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III.
Without Griffin, the Baylor star had a fantastic senior season. On his way to becoming an unanimous All-American, he caught 97 passes for 1,832 yards and 12 touchdowns.
At all three levels, Williams shown his ability to make receptions. He was also quite good at gaining yards after the catch. Despite his lack of exceptional size and speed, he was never touted as a future NFL No. 1 receiver.
The former third-round pick only played six seasons in the NFL, all with the Cowboys. During that time, he has 232 catches for 3,377 yards and 20 touchdowns. After Tony Romo departed Dallas, his productivity dropped dramatically. No other NFL club gave Williams a shot when his time with the Cowboys ended.
According to the Ottawa Redblacks’ Twitter account, Williams is officially a member of the CFL’s Ottawa Redblacks.
For the Chargers, Keenan Allen has evolved into an outstanding receiver.

Keenan Allen had a successful collegiate career as well. In three seasons with the Cal Bears, he had 205 catches, 2,570 receiving yards, and 17 touchdowns.
Because California lacked outstanding quarterback performance, Allen was not considered among the best wide receivers in the draft class. The offense as a whole failed to score points, limiting Allen’s potential and hurting his draft status.
Despite a less-than-ideal environment in college, the 6-foot-2 wideout began his NFL career in a much better one.
Allen has been a standout for the Chargers from the day he first on the field. Catching passes from a Pro Bowl gunslinger like Philip Rivers helps.
As a rookie in San Diego, the Greensboro, North Carolina native caught 71 receptions for 1,046 yards and eight touchdowns. In 2013, he was named to the NFL All-Rookie Team. Allen had four 1,000-yard seasons in his eight seasons on the field.
While Terrance Williams’ career was cut short much too soon, Keenan Allen has continued to amaze.

The Dallas Cowboys’ defensive backfield seems to be a problem. Throughout the 2020 season, opposing quarterbacks took them apart. Much the same thing occurred in Week 1 when Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers racked up 379 yards and four touchdowns passing against the Cowboys.
In Dallas’ season opener, cornerback Trevon Diggs was the lone bright light in the secondary. On 39 of his 47 routes, he lined up against Buccaneers WR Mike Evans. On ten targets, Diggs only allowed one catch for ten yards.
In the Cowboys’ Week 2 matchup with the Los Angeles Chargers, Dan Quinn will most likely want his rookie corner to match up with Keenan Allen on a regular basis.
In the season opener against the Washington Football Team, Allen caught nine receptions for 100 yards. Justin Herbert, a four-time Pro Bowl quarterback, targeted the four-time Pro Bowler 13 times.
Herbert’s favorite target has been the experienced receiver, who acts as a safety net for the rookie signal-caller. Allen is one of the best route runners in the NFL, and the Cowboys’ young secondary may struggle to contain him.
In a highly anticipated game, both offenses are dynamic and ready to put up huge numbers.
