As the NBA continues to maintain its popularity, intense followers of the game are looking to see who will be the next Michael Jordan or Kobe Bryant in the future of the sport. Playing at an elite level is a young person’s game, and the players under 25 are not only some of the best but also have the potential to be some of the greatest of all time. The following list has but a few of the best players that are coming out of the works and beginning to make quite a mark on the NBA scene.
Keegan Murray – Sacramento Kings
Debuting in July 2022, this 6’8’’ power forward lived up to his college career when he was drafted to the Sacramento Kings NBA team, and it seems there is no stopping this incredible athlete. His field and 3-point shots are above par, and have collected a variety of honors, such as the Karl Malone Award, Summer League MVP for 2022, and Consensus first-team All-American in 2022.
He was formerly an all-star player for college team Iowa, but his intense skill and ability caught the eye of the pros, and it looks like his career will continue on an upwards path for years to come.
Evan Mobley – Cleveland Cavaliers
Not many people know about this player yet, but it can be sure that Evan Mobley will be on the radar in no time, given his impressive debut in the NBA. It’s not every day that an athlete of this caliber comes along and schools other players on how to play the game. Third overall pick for the Cavaliers, this 6’11’’ giant is understandably a power forward who has gained attention for his skills which have been compared to legends such as LeBron James.
Anthony Edwards – Minnesota Timberwolves
At only 21 years of age, the “Ant-Man,” who plays for the Minnesota Timberwolves, is considered one of the most physically gifted players in the NBA today. He was drafted into the Timberwolves in 2020 based primarily on his skill as a shooting guard, which was rated 5 out of 5 by recruiting services such as Rivals and ESPN. Anyone interested in NBA betting should keep a keen eye on the Ant-Man if they are siding against the Timberwolves.
He was the number one draft pick for the team, and so far, their pick has paid off. In his first NBA game against the Detroit Pistons, he scored 15 points and put up four rebounds and four assists, all in only 25 minutes. He is also the 3rd youngest player to score over 40 points in NBA history, with his 42-point game against the Phoenix Suns in March 2021. Definitely a career to watch going forward.
Bones Hyland – Denver Nuggets
Point guard Bones Hyland has had an impressive debut into the NBA with his 27 points and ten rebounds in a 133–96 win against the Los Angeles Lakers in January of 2022. His style of play is described as aggressive and fearless but with a flair for fun as well as the utmost sportsmanship. Although he was only the 26th draft pick for the Nuggets in 2021 overall, it has worked out with his ease of play and overall knowledge of the game. If he maintains his gameplay, he could be one of the all-time greats for the Nuggets in the future.
