| WASHINGTON DEFENSE FALLS INTO SPEED TRAP |
|
What went right: Not much. When the Huskies blitzed and made it all the way to Bradford, he threw a perfect pass to the proper receiver. When they didn't blitz, Bradford threw a perfect pass to the proper receiver. What went wrong: A lot. Washington allowed a season high in points and total net yards. The speed of Oklahoma's offense was a problem, leaving the young, banged-up defense searching. "I think practice speed and the actual speed of the game were two completely different things," Huskies safety Nate Williams said. "I think it kind of showed today. We have a lot of work to do as a team. We're definitely going to try and improve on a lot of things. We have a week off, we're going to practice hard like we always do and try to move forward. What's next: A health upgrade for the battered secondary. Former O'Dea star, and former tailback, Johri Fogerson was pressed into duty at safety against one of the nation's best offenses. Fogerson made some tackles, but also made some mistakes, which is not a surprise. The Huskies are young and beat up on defense, and have faced three of the most potent offenses in the country. If anyone deserves a pity party, it's this group. |
